Children’s Book
An Environmental Handbook for Teachers is a guide to common environmental issues, complete with teacher information pages, classroom activity suggestions and photocopiable sheets for students. In collaboration with HSBC Bank UAE and with their genrous support, this book, along with Omar’s Goats, was distributed to nine countries in the Middle East, in English and Arabic to heighten environmental issues.

Why I wrote it…
After I wrote Omar’s Goats, a children’s picture book about cleaning up the desert, Donna Acheson-Juillet, the illustrator, and I felt that for the book to have an impact on children, then adults had to be involved. We worked on the idea that if teachers were well informed, then they could help inspire and equip children to look after their local environment.
